Coming home today in the car, I had on my local Christian Radio Station, KJYL and one of my favorite spotlights came on. Breakpoint, which was started by Chuck Colson. Today they were talking about a man named Steve Jobs who has something to do with Apple computers, who had the gumption to stand up and announce that his company was not going to be promoting pornography on their products. Hooray for you Mr. Jobs. It's about time that someone stood up for the rest of us.
Why is it that anything to do with decency is under attack these days. I guess you can read about that right in the Bible. 2nd Timothy, the third chapter, reads like a recap of the days headlines, or nightly news. What should we be doing in times like these?
Well, even though my first instinct is to say: Lord, I'm ready, rapture me out of here. Anytime soon would be fine with me. I'm pretty sure that is not what God wants me to be thinking. Not that we aren't supposed to long for his appearing, but until he does appear (and make no mistake, HE WILL APPEAR) could I perhaps maybe spend a little more time each day in prayer. Could my prayers perhaps focus more on how God could use me to help others, rather than dwelling on God getting rid of all my problems. Hmmmmm.....
Anyway, this all started with today's "Breakpoint". Mr. Jobs, you have probably gotten yourself into a big mess by what you did, but WAY TO GO!!!! I hope there are more folks out there like you. It's time to stand up. There is an old country song that has a verse which says, "You've got to stand for somethin' or you'll fall for everything" And please Lord, help those who choose to stand.
Good night
